When it comes to building a truly premium marine enclosure, the difference is always in the details—and on this project, custom-designed, 3D printed cable guides played a pivotal role in getting everything exactly right.

Thinking there had to be a better way to keep the best fit and tension while making allowance for the sail lines, we engineered a solution that works with them. Each guide was digitally designed to suit the vessel’s unique geometry, then 3D printed for a precise fit. This allowed us to route ropes cleanly through the structure without chafe, distortion, or compromise to the canvas. The result is a system that maintains consistent tension across the enclosure—critical for achieving superior water tightness and eliminating those small gaps where wind and spray typically find their way in.

With the rope runs neatly controlled, we were able to maximise visibility as well. The clears sit exactly where they should, free from unnecessary pressure or warping. Using 1mm Vinistar PLUS, the panels deliver exceptional clarity while maintaining durability in demanding marine conditions. There’s no puckering, no uneven stress—just clean, uninterrupted sightlines that make a real difference when you’re underway or at anchor.

The enclosure itself is fabricated from Sunbrella Marine in Slate, offering a refined, modern finish alongside industry-leading UV resistance and longevity. Complementing this, the shade panels are crafted from Soltis 86, providing breathable protection that cuts glare and heat without sacrificing airflow or outward vision.

What ties it all together is the integration. By combining advanced digital scanning and design with traditional marine craftsmanship, the details right down to the 3D printed cable guides ensure every component performs exactly as intended. Less wear on materials, better load distribution, and a cleaner overall finish all contribute to a longer-lasting enclosure that looks sharp and performs even better.
